WiDom Universal Roller Shutter is a Z-Wave certified "in wall device", for the multilevel control of roller shutter motors. It can accurately control the opening and closing of blinds, curtains, shutters, Venetian blinds as requested by the user through local commands or remotely using computers, smartphones, tablets.

It is able to react autonomously to signals from the Z-Wave network, such as signalling alarms for abnormal levels of CO2, window breakage, flooding, etc. The different types of alarm that the device reacts to are configurable, as well as the mode of reaction

It features very low power consumption, both on standby and when operational, and it is also easy to install, thanks to its inversion of control feature which can be enabled when the device is installed. Easy and convenient to use thanks to its two favourite positions settings

Auto-Calibration

The revolutionary WiDom Universal Roller Shutter is able to sense the shutter position with high precision, without the use of external sensors.  During the utilization phase, a continuous and automatic control of the limit switches allows the calibration to remain stable. In the absence of a power source, the system runs a self-repositioning procedure that restores the calibration.

Favourite Positions

The WiDom Universal Roller Shutter can memorise two favourite positions: one for the upward movements (opening movements) - favourite level for the ON position- the other for the downward movements (closing movement) - favourite level for the OFF position These positions can be activated manually through a double click on the Up or Down button.

Reacts to alarms

The system is able to react to alarm signals originating from other devices, such as CO2 levels, window breakage, flooding, etc. The different types of alarm which the device reacts to are configurable, as well as the mode of reaction.

Ultra low power consumption

Thanks to its particular design features, the WiDom Universal Roller Shutter has the lowest energy consumption amongst similar devices currently available on the market.  It uses less than 230 mW on standby mode, and less than 500 mW when operational.

Ready to be installed, but fully configurable

The device is supplied ready for installation. It can be configured to behave differently depending on the number of times that an existing button installed in the system is pressed: for example, a "double click" action can be configured to close all roller shutters of the house. Universal Roller Shutter can be supplied with custom configurations.

Device Modes

  • Pressing and holding the UP/DOWN button makes the motor move in the relevant direction; the motor will stop instead as soon as the button is released or when it reaches the limit switch.
  • If the motor is moving towards the UP/DOWN direction, a command to move in the opposite direction will stop it from running.
  • If the motor is moving towards the UP/DOWN direction, pressing the UP/DOWN button again will have no consequences.
  • A double click of the UP/DOWN button makes the motor move until it reaches the pre-set favourite UP/DOWN position.

WiDom Universal Roller Shutter is a Z-Wave “in wall Device” for the multilevel control of roller shutter motors which can control very precisely the level of opening and closing of the shutters.

During the utilization phase, a continuous and automatic control of the limit switches allows the calibration to remain stable. The device can memorise two favourite positions: one for the upward movements and one for the downward movements. These positions can be activated by the user through a double click on the Up or Down buttons respectively. It features an extremely useful inverting function that inverts the exits that control the motor. This function can be useful for instance during the inclusion phase, if the wiring was performed with inverted commands. Once the inversion is enabled, the receipt of an opening/closure command will make the motor move in the opposite direction to what it previously was.

It is the procedure through which the systems map  both the position taken by the roller shutter and the motor functioning parameters. After this procedure takes place, it will be possible to control the shutter movement and indicate the exact position it has to reach.

The WiDom Universal Roller Shutter supports any AC motor with limit switches and power supply and as long as its power limits do not exceed those indicated in the guidelines.

Once the power will be back, the shutters will have maintained their position. With the first attempt to reach a specific level (with the favourite position feature or by setting up the level), the system will automatically and independently restore the calibrating position. This procedure entails the full automatic opening or closing of the shutter and finally its positioning at the desired level.
